Professional Yacht Transport Solutions
Moving a yacht across oceans - or even across a single sea - requires more than just sailing ability. Seven Seas was founded in 1998 by Marek Belniak, who has been sailing for more than 45 years, and has delivered yachts worldwide since 2015. Our skippers bring decades of offshore experience of their own, and we move yachts for owners, brokers and charter companies.
More Than Just Delivery Skippers
Many companies offer delivery skippers. We offer complete yacht transport solutions. Whether you need your new purchase sailed from the boatyard to your home marina, your charter yacht repositioned between seasons, or a tall ship moved across the Atlantic for a festival, we handle every aspect of the operation.
Our services include:
Skipper Delivery: The traditional method - your yacht sailed by our professional crew. Our skippers usually hold RYA Yachtmaster Offshore or an equivalent licence, and they carry their own professional indemnity insurance. Your yacht is tracked live throughout the passage.
Commercial Shipping: For intercontinental moves or when sailing isn't practical, we coordinate transport on cargo vessels. We handle loading supervision, customs documentation, and delivery to the destination port.
Tall Ships: Our speciality. Moving square-rigged vessels, traditional ships, and heritage craft requires specific expertise that few companies can offer. We've transported tall ships for maritime museums, sail training organisations, and private owners.
Road Transport: Overland moves within Europe. We coordinate with specialist hauliers, arrange permits, and supervise loading and unloading.
The Skipper Delivery Difference

Your peace of mind is our priority. Our skippers carry individual Professional Indemnity Insurance up to £5M, usually with Pantaenius or an equivalent marine insurer. This provides an additional layer of security on top of your standard hull cover during the voyage.

Your yacht is in safe hands. We usually work with RYA Yachtmaster skippers or skippers with equivalent licences, carefully selected for their sailing experience and proven technical knowledge, and matched to the yacht and the route.

How much does yacht delivery cost?
Costs depend on distance, yacht size, delivery method, and timing. As a rough guide, skipper delivery runs about 2.50-4.50 EUR per nautical mile plus crew expenses. We provide detailed quotes within 24 hours.
What qualifications do your skippers hold?
Most of our delivery skippers hold RYA Yachtmaster Offshore or Ocean, or an equivalent licence from their own country. Our skippers come from all over the world, but we work most easily with RYA skippers, because we speak the same language and follow the same procedures. They carry personal professional indemnity insurance, and many have logged over 100,000 miles. For each delivery, we match skipper experience to yacht type and route. A summer hop from Barcelona to Palma needs a different skipper than an Atlantic crossing.
Is my yacht insured during delivery?
Your existing hull insurance typically covers delivery by professional crew - check with your insurer. Our skippers carry professional indemnity insurance up to £5M, usually with Pantaenius or an equivalent marine insurer. We can arrange additional passage insurance if required. Full insurance documentation is provided before departure.
How long does a typical delivery take?
UK to Mediterranean: 2-3 weeks. Transatlantic: 18-25 days. UK to Caribbean via Atlantic: 4-5 weeks. Times depend on weather windows, yacht speed, and whether you want direct passage or coastal hopping. We provide realistic schedules - never rushed estimates.
Can I sail along on my own yacht delivery?
Yes, we encourage owner participation. You'll learn the boat, gain miles, and experience the passage. We simply require that the skipper remains in command for insurance purposes. Many owners join for part of the delivery - flying out to meet the yacht mid-route.
What happens if something breaks during delivery?
Our skippers are experienced at onboard repairs. For significant issues, we contact you immediately to discuss options. Minor consumables and standard wear items are your responsibility. Damage caused by the skipper's negligence is covered by the skipper's own professional indemnity insurance.
Do you deliver powerboats as well as sailing yachts?
Yes. Motor yachts require different fuel planning and weather windows, but the process is similar. For long passages where fuel capacity is limiting, we combine short legs with fuel stops or arrange cargo ship transport.
