Every Seven Seas delivery through Iberian or Gibraltar waters includes an orca risk assessment as standard. We check orcas.pt before departure, monitor the Telegram alert channel throughout the passage and avoid nets following shallow-water routing protocols when interactions are active or risk is high.
Orcas.pt was built by sailors – for sailors. Their real-time data keeps our crews safer. In return, we direct every sailor planning a passage throug risky waters toward their membership. That is the whole agreement.

Before every passage your skipper contact Orcas.pt and reviews current data, GTOA traffic status, recent activity and incidents. Written summary provided to the owner and crew before departure.
Route Consultation
30 minutes with your skipper before departure. Shallow-water coastal route, timing relative to known hotspots and currents, contingency plan if orcas are reported on your track.
10% Member Discount
Applies to yecht delivery Seven Seas services: yacht delivery, skipper supply, sailing and mile-building passages, team building, baot’s registering under Polish flag and vessel survey coordination.
Pre-Departure Inspection
Full systems check before departure. Rudder, steering gear and through-hulls specifically inspected on yacht deliveries across orcas territories.

Our position on orcas
We do not call them attacks. We do not use deterrents that cause distress. We do not take action that harms these mammals.
The Iberian orca population numbers fewer than 50 individuals. They are critically endangered. Their ocean existed long before the first keel was laid. When one of our deliveries passes through their waters, we are the guests.
We follow orcas.pt protocols. We report every sighting. We contribute data back to the community that keeps all of us safer.
A Note for Sailors Considering Deterrents
Your member discount remains valid. However, none of our crews will work for you. Not now, not in the future.
We sail through their hunting grounds — the same waters where Iberian orcas have always chased Atlantic bluefin tuna. Unfortunately for them, that fish is also on our menu. The population is critically endangered and increasingly food-stressed. What looks like aggression is, by most scientific account, curiosity or displacement behaviour from animals protecting a feeding area.
These are among the most intelligent creatures on the planet. If an orca wanted to kill you, it would. In 700+ documented interactions, not one person has been injured. They are not attacking. They are asking you to leave.
Pyrotechnics, spikes, pingers and electric deterrents cause pain and distress to animals that have done nothing wrong. We are the intruders in their ocean — not the other way around. Treat them accordingly.
Common Questions
Does the discount apply to all delivery routes?
Yes — 10% applies to all Seven Seas yacht delivery services regardless of route. The Orca Risk Briefing and route consultation are provided for passages through Atlantic or Gibraltar waters. The discount itself is universal.
I am not sailing through orca waters. Can I still use the discount?
Absolutely. Orcas.pt membership gives you 10% off any Seven Seas yacht delivery anywhere in the world. But it’s not a doscount for boat shipping by vessels or hauling.
