The passage
Forty one days from the Adriatic to the Øresund
The owner bought the boat in Rogoznica on the Croatian coast and wanted her at home in Copenhagen. There is no short way: down the Adriatic, across the Mediterranean, out through Gibraltar, up past Portugal and Biscay, through the Channel and the North Sea and round Skagen into the Øresund. About 3,600 nautical miles.
It took 41 days. Not the fastest delivery we have done, but one of the calmest. The weather was kind on the long legs and the crew had time to sail the boat properly instead of fighting the calendar. She arrived in Copenhagen in the same condition she left Croatia, which for a family cruiser after a passage like this is the whole point.
The yacht
The Beneteau Oceanis Clipper 361 is a modern family cruiser: 36 ft 5 in overall, 12 ft 6 in beam, sloop rig, Volvo 2030 28 hp, three cabins and up to nine berths. Spacious inside for its length, with a large heads compartment, and it sails well enough to make long legs comfortable.
